  • ABOUT

    Sonnenberg Advisory was founded after nearly two decades of experience across venture capital, family offices, hedge funds, private equity, and startup ecosystems. The firm was built to bring institutional-grade operational expertise and strategic insight to investors, founders, and family offices on a fractional basis.

    Prior to founding Sonnenberg Advisory, Rachel built and led the Investment Innovation Lab at Amazon Web Services, where she worked closely with early-stage startups. She previously served as Chief of Staff at Kindred Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital fund, and earlier was part of the growth-stage investment team at Y Combinator.

    Before returning to San Francisco, Rachel spent more than a decade in Boston. Rachel was at North Run Capital, an event-driven long/short hedge fund, and Audax Group, a middle-market private equity firm. She began her professional career at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, where she was selected for the company’s highly competitive management training program and later focused on operations and quality analytics—an experience that shaped her long-standing focus on operational excellence.

    Rachel lives in San Francisco with her husband, Andrei. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, music, photography, cycling, skiing, cooking, discovering new restaurants, and exploring the world of wine. A lifelong learner, she is always pursuing new ideas, skills, and experiences.
